My Judicial Philosophy

“I believe in the distinct and separate roles of each of our branches of government and that judges should make decisions based upon the law and our state and federal Constitutions. I do not believe that judges should engage in judicial activism, legislate from the bench or insert their own policy preferences into their decision making.

I will work to increase the trust and confidence in our judicial system by acting with integrity while treating everyone in my courtroom with the highest degree of courtesy and respect. In addition, I will make decisions that are fair, impartial and free from bias.”
